Natural remedies for dark lips

1. Sugar scrub

Take three tablespoons of sugar powder and add two tablespoons of butter to it. Blend or mix it to from a thick paste. Use it as a scrub over the lips, sugar works as exfoliate and removes the dead skin present on the lips where as butter helps to increase the color and moisture.

2. Lemon juice

The bleaching agents of lemon are the best workers to remove the layer from lips. It exfoliates the lip skin and brings new tone. Squeeze a lemon and apply the juice over the lips with finger tips. Do it in regular manner to get glossy and pink lips.

3. Beet root

One of the ideal way to get the pink lips in the home is by applying the beet root juice. Its natural red color mirrors the same on lips and cleanses the darkness simultaneously. The natural agents existing in the beetroot gradually reduces the darkness of lips.

4. Olive oil

Olive oil contains so many essential nutrients which helps to nurture your lips. Retain few drops of olive oil on the lips and scrub it, it brings you natural glowing and soft lips by giving its nutrients to lips.

5. Rose flower

Reach the rose flower to get rosy lips, prepare paste from rose petals and butter by blending them well. Apply the paste and scrub over, the pin stain existing in rose decreases the lips darkness and promotes pink and rosy lips. Try to make it for two times a week for the endeavoring results.

6. Berries

Take the help of berries to turn your lips in to rose petals. Berries like raspberries and strawberries can drill your problem of having dark lips. Prepare the paste from raspberries and mix it with aloe vera gel and honey. Apply and scrub it, rinse off after ten minutes and get a glossy pink lips.

7. Petroleum jelly

Take three table spoons of petroleum jelly and one and half table spoon of strawberry juice, mix it up and use it as a daily lip balm.

8. Smooth scrub

Rather than pouring money on lip care products, follow this simple tip to get natural pink lips. Before you are going to bed in the night time, scrub your lips with the help of soft tooth brush, it removes the flaky dead skin from lips and helps to achieve pinkness.

9. Pomegranate

Separate the pomegranate seeds and blend it with butter, apply this paste directly over the lips. Scrub it for few minutes and leave. It is one of the good and natural home based remedy to get clear pink lips.

Pumpkin Pie Tofu Pudding


2 servings

1 cup cooked pumpkin (or pumpkin purée)
1/2 block silken tofu
4-5 dates
1 ripe banana
1/2 tsp cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender & blend until smooth and creamy.
2. Allow to set in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving.
3. Use your favorite toppings!

Words for myself- 'Get Fit! Don't Quit!'


After more than 1 month I don't do proper abs workout (doesn't mean I skip all the exercise kay) and eat many processed foods due to the work loads, presentation stuff etc... I'm becoming lazy to do abs workout. But FITNESS IS A LIFESTYLE WITH NO FINISH LINE. 
So I'm going to start back my blog, clean eating, more abs workout. I Believe that if I don't give up, one day when I look back, I will be glad that I didn't give up :)

Life is about one choice, give up or get up... I would like to pick GET UP! 



I'm glad that the line still there :D

DIY Coffee Face Mask

The coffee face mask is  actually an ideal mask for all skin types – with a few add-ins depending
 on your skin concerns. About 10 years ago, beauty companies started to use caffeine as an 
ingredient in face products because of its incredible tightening effects. So, while this mask
 is meant to brighten your complexion, it will also tighten it, revealing a more youthful you!
What You’ll Need:
1/2 Cup ground organic coffee beans (you can grind your own or buy pre-ground)
1/2 Cup organic, unsweetened cocoa powder
1 Cup of unsweetened whole milk
1 Tbsp of lemon juice (for dry skin, try olive or almond oil)
1 Tbsp of honey (for extra oily or acne prone skin, use additional lemon juice here instead of honey)

Coffee Beans – Reduces inflammation and redness, and the appearance of under eye circles. 
As an exfoliator, removes dead skin and “wakes up” a tired complexion.
Cocoa Powder – A good source of antioxidants; repairs damage due to environmental 
pollutants and free radicals. Contains high levels of sulfur (great for fighting acne).
Milk – It is said that Cleopatra bathed in milk to give her skin a healthy glow. 
Lactic acid exfoliants while natural enzymes help to smooth skin. Amino acids keep skin hydrated.
Lemon Juice – Acts as an exfoliant. Contains natural vitamin C to lighten, tighten and brighten. 
Great for regulating oil production.

Directions:
In your bowl, mix the finely ground coffee beans with the cocoa powder. 
Add in the milk, stir until it creates a paste. For a thicker paste, use less milk. 
Fold in lemon juice and honey. Apply to skin and let dry (up to 20 minutes). 
Wash off and store any extras in the fridge for up to 3 days.

How To Do It: Sit on the edge of a flat exercise bench and place your hands, fingers facing forward, next to your thighs. Place your feet on the floor in front of you, knees bent. Keeping your arms straight, scoot forward so your butt is hovering in front of the edge of the bench (A). Inhale, bend your arms, and lower your butt (B), stopping when your upper arms are parallel to the floor. Exhale and push yourself back up, straightening your arms.
*you can use a chair instead of exercise bench so it is a home workout too =)

Add a Twist: To make the move even more challenging, extend your legs straight in front of you.

Homemade chocolate syrup

Homemade Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup Recipe

Makes about 16 ounces (2 cups)

Ingredients:


Directions:
  • Use a big saucepan – at least 2 quarts. This will expand when boiling.
  • Combine the cocoa powder, water, sugar and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix with awhisk until smooth.
  • Stir constantly with a whisk or a wooden spoon until it boils.
  • Allow it to boil for 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Syrup will be very thin/watery. Allow to cool completely and it will thicken to about the same consistency as Hershey’s syrup.
Store the syrup in a mason jar or any other container. It will keep for several weeks in the fridge.

brightening and tightening ur skin

DIY Brightening and Tightening Face Mask
Ingredients
  • 1 Egg White
  • 1/2 T. Raw Honey
  • 1/2 T. Fresh Lemon Juice
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients in a deep bowl. Whip briskly with a fork or whisk until foamy, 1-2 minutes.
  2. Wash and dry your face, and then, using your fingers or a small brush, spread the mixture over your entire face, avoiding the eye area. I like to spread it on as thickly as possible without it dripping.
  3. Leave the mask on for 30 minutes, or until it has completely dried and feels tight on your skin.
  4. Rinse the mask off with warm water, using a washcloth to gently wipe the mask away.
  5. Splash your face with very cold water and gently pat dry.

HOMEMADE TEDDY GRAHAMS

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2-1/2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • Dash of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • About 1/4 cup water or milk (we did half water, half milk)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and spray lightly with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the honey, vanilla, butter and water/milk together. In another bowl, stir the flours, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and pumpkin pie spice together. Make a well in the center of the flour and stir the mixture to combine.
  3. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll out to about 1/4 inch thickness. Using a mini teddy bear cookie cutter (we used thesmallest one in this package) stamp out shapes (you'll get about 45 to 50 bears).
  4. Place the teddy grahams on the parchment paper and bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.

  1. Half cup low fat cottage cheese/yogurt with one sliced banana, half cup grapes, or any serving of fruit
  2. One apple sliced with one tablespoon all natural peanut butter
  3. One grapefruit with one teaspoon honey
  4. Half cup air-popped popcorn with butter spray, one tablespoon melted butter, and a dash of sea salt
  5. Fourteen Raw Almonds with two tablespoons cranberries or raisins
  6. 3/4 cup frozen red grapes
  7. Whole grain pretzel sticks
  8. One cup edamame with sea salt or a quarter cup dry roasted edamame
  9. 20 Pistachios = 80 calories
  10. Half cup whole grain cereal (Mini-Wheats, Oat Squares, Multi-Grain Cheerios)
  11. low fat Wheat crackers with one low fat string cheese
  12. One whole grain granola bar (Annie's or Special K)
  13. Celery sticks with one tablespoon all natural peanut butter
  14. Eight ounces of light yogurt mixed with half cup of low fat cottage cheese
  15. Half cup raspberries/blueberries/ strawberries with a half cup of nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt
  16. One Granola bar
  17. One packet of peanuts
  18. Two hard boiled eggs — There are seven grams of protein per egg and no fat if you don't eat the yolk
  19. One large rice cake — I like lightly salted (add peanut butter on top) & chilies flake rice cake (do not need to add topping as it has its own flavor). 
  20. A quarter cup of hummus with baby carrots or half a whole wheat pita in wedges
  21. Half cup of Greek yogurt (Be sure to look for a protein count of 20 grams or higher) topped with 1/4 cup cereal or granola/muesli.
  22. Five whole wheat saltines with a slice of cheddar cheese
  23. An apple sliced with a single low-fat string cheese/ cup of greek yogurt.
  24. Veggie Smoothie - beetroot+ apple+ lemon+ carrot

Peanut butter lava chocolate cupcake

 Ingredients:
- All purpose flour (half cup) [Add two scoops of protein powder]
- sugar (1 tbsp)
- baking chocolate
- butter (1 tsp)
- choc essential (1 tsp)
- 1 egg
- peanut butter (roll it into ball shape)


  1. Melt the baking chocolate and the butter together. 
  2. In a dry bowl, sift the flour and add sugar, egg, choc essential into the flour mixture. Mix to a soft batter with some milk (** I don't like milk so i substitute milk with soya).
  3. Put the batter into refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  4. Turn half of the batter into the pudding basin. Add the peanut butter ball in the middle and cover with the rest of batter.
  5. Steam for 20-25 minutes. 
  6. Turn out into a plate and sift some powdered sugar for decoration purpose.

Spices that I added in my food which aid in weight loss

Studies show cayenne pepper can speed up metabolism and suppress the appetite. The hot and spicy taste of cayenne pepper comes from capsaicin, a compound found in many hot peppers. Capsaicin is known to boost metabolism, causing the body to produce extra heat and burn more calories for fuel. Research suggests that after consuming foods with capsaicin, the body’s metabolic rate (aka energy use) can increase 15 % for up to two hours. Other studies suggest capsaicin also increases fat oxidation, allowing the body to better use fat as fuel.

A more significant effect of cayenne is appetite suppression. It helps to cut down the craving for fatty, salty and sweet foods. 
Add some cayenne powder into your foods such as vegetables, soup or meat to boost your metabolism. 

But don't expect the pounds can be cut down by using cayenne. Regular exercise and clean diet are necessary too.

Cinnamon is rich in manganese, iron, calcium and fiber. It has been used since medieval times to cure diarrhea, indigestion and bloating. In addition, it helps prevent the spread of cancer cells, the formation of stomach ulcers, and assists in curing bacterial infections. Cinnamon lowers blood sugar levels along with bad cholesterol levels (LDL) while having no effect on the good cholesterol (HDL). Hence, it’s beneficial for both heart and type 2 diabetes patients. The lowering of blood sugar levels and improvement in cholesterol ratios helps to reverse insulin resistance or pre-diabetes. Since cinnamon is sweet to the taste, it also satisfies the craving for sweet foods that generally afflicts diabetics.

Cinnamon has a regulatory effect on blood sugar levels and simultaneously increases insulin levels in the body. It imitates the biological activity of insulin and increases the metabolism of glucose. Since high blood sugar levels can lead to increased storage of fat by the body, cinnamon helps prevent this increased storage of fat and enables you to lose weight. In addition, it influences the manner in which sugar is metabolized by the body and prevents the transformation of the metabolized sugar into fat. Cinnamon also delays the passing of food from the stomach into the intestine. Hence, you feel satisfied for a longer time and eat less. Cinnamon also helps the body to process carbohydrates more efficiently and this assists you in losing a few pounds. Studies show that abdominal fat is more sensitive to the effects of cinnamon than fat from other parts of the body.

I'm a normal human too, I have craving for nice foods or snacks too and having some hard time to workout but I find a way out to make it easy and after sometimes it become a habit. I don't find the time to exercise, I make the time to exercise. 



Craving for sugars, choc, snacks? You can find an alternative for snack cravings by substitute them with the healthy version. 


No time for gym? Find time for it, there is no excuse if you wan to ... 





Hopefully I can be like them too :P

Home-made protein powder

Brown rice, Lentils, Steel-cut oat



Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup steel cut oats
  • 1/3 cup brown rice
  • 1 cup dried green lentils (can replaced with soybean)
  • cocoa powder / black coffee for flavoring (*optional) 
*100 g of soybean (raw) contains 36 g protein; 100 g of lentils contains 26 g protein
* You can play around with the ratio, increase the ratio of lentils or soybean for more protein, reduce the carbs intake (less oat & rice)

Mix it in a bowl and grind into powder form. Keep in a air-tight container for consumption.

 

Rocky banana with nuts & berries


Ingredients:
- Dark chocolate bar/ Choc chips
- 3-4 large banana
- 1/4 cups of goji berries,  Peanuts

Peel and slice the bananas. Dip/cover in the chocolate and then roll in the nut/berry mix. Put them on wax paper on a tray and stick in the freezer for 1-2 hours. When they're frozen, take them out and wait 10 minutes until you see the bananas start to "melt". Devour.


Natural Skin Lightening Remedies

1. Lemon Juice

With a high content of vitamin C, lemon juice is the perfect natural skin lightening agent. You can apply lemon rind to the darker areas, soak your hand and feet in a mixture of lemon juice and water or even try a lemon lotion (two parts lemon juice, one part rum and three parts glycerin).

2. Sandalwood Powder and Tomato Juice

Red sandalwood powder is an excellent way to lighten your skin. Turn it into a paste with tomato juice and keep it on your hands and feet for 30 minutes before rinsing.

3. Cucumber Juice and Milk

Mix equal parts of cucumber juice and milk (full fat). After application, let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.

4. Yogurt and Honey

Natural unflavored yogurt mixed with honey (half the quantity of the yogurt) makes for an excellent pack for darker skin. Rinse after 15 minutes.

5. Turmeric and Gram Flour

Mix equal parts of turmeric powder and gram flour with cucumber or lemon juice. Leave it on the area for 15 minutes before rinsing.

Choc-oat mixed with goji berries sweet treat


Ingredients:
  • 8 cups of rolled oat 
  • handful of goji berries
  • 2 & 1/2 tbsp of honey
  • nuts of ur choice (almonds, cashew nuts, peanuts etc..)
  • 1 tbsp of cocoa powder
  • baking chocolate 
  • 1 tbsp of crunchy peanut butter

  1. Mix rolled oat, goji berries, honey, cocoa powder and nuts together. 
  2. Put some boiling water so that the mixture can stick firmly. 
  3. Place the oat mixture into a square baking box or a Tupperware. 
  4. Refrigerate until firm, about 15 to 20 minutes. 
  5. Put both baking chocolate and peanut butter over low heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is melted and smooth
  6. Spoon the chocolate mixture on top of the oat layer. 
  7. Refrigerate for another 20 minutes. 
  8. Cut into 1 inch squares and enjoy!

Cornflake Marshmallow energy bar


Ingredients

  • 4 cups cornflakes
  • 1/4 cup butter (or non-dairy spread)
  • 250 g marshmallows 
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Generous handful dark chocolate chips

Directions

1.In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter until starting to foam. Add marshmallows, vanilla, and cinnamon, stir until completely melted.


2. Reduce heat to very low and stir in the cornflakes until completely coated in marshmallow mixture.
3.Tip into prepared square baking tin, using either the back of a spoon or your asbestos hand, press down firmly and evenly. While still warm, scatter over the chocolate chips. Let the residual heat soften them, then spread the chocolate over the top of cornflakes. 
4.Set aside to cool completely, then cut into squares and store in an airtight container. Lasts a few days.
